The FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) is an international touring car championship organised by the FIA. The first race was held in 1987. Now with race events held at major prestigious circuits around the world, major car manufacturers have garnered support. The FIA World Tour Car Championship used to be known as the ETCC, racing only within European countries.
