The 4 kilometre Circuit Ricardo Tormo is named after a famous Spanish motorcycle racer and was opened in 1999. The circuit has since been a favourite Formula One test venue because of its warm / dry climate but it also hosts events such as the WTCC, DTM, and F3. More popular events are the World Superbike and Moto GP races where capacity crowds of 120,000 regularly attend.
